You'll not get one complaint from me about having to spend my day canning spaghetti sauce, they were a God sent blessing. Continue simmering for another hour to an hour and a half until tomato sauce thickens. As you may already know, I have a tried-and-true, decades old homemade spaghetti sauce I use regularly for family spaghetti dinners (and a faster weeknight spaghetti sauce), but neither of those have been tested for canning safety. That's where this homemade canned spaghetti sauce recipe comes in!

  1. I use a huge turkey roaster….. Dump all the tomatoes in the roaster… Allow to cook overnight at 200°
  2. Mince bell pepper, celery, and onion… saute in butter….add to tomato mixture..
  3. Allow tomatoes veggie mix to cook for 3-4 hours…. This is what I call stewed tomatoes…. They can be canned at this point in a pressure canner for 25 minutes at 10# of pressure..
  4. If making spaghetti sauce add the additional ingredients and cook again overnight….
  5. Is ready to can….this recipe made 14qts of sauce….pressure can for 25 minutes at 10# of pressure…
