To make these appe you need the paniyaram chatti or appe pan. Using a non-stick appam-pan is a good idea to reduce the amount of ghee used for frying. These appams are super soft and flipping these can be little tricky. Using a greased spoon makes the task easier.
Instructions to make Oats appam:
- Take a bowl add suji and curd mix it well then add all dry ingredients like haldi,red chili and salt mix it well and keep aside
- Heat the pan pour little oil now add tadka,rai,green chilli,chana and urad daal saute for 10 sec, now add chopped onion saute for 30 sec,now add all chopped veggies and saute well
- After that now add oats and saute for 30 sec, now veggies mix is ready off the flame
- At this time add our saute veggies in suji dahi mix and mix it well now add little water and again mix now add tomato and rest for 5 min
- Let's make appam, take a appam pan put some oil and pour our mixture in the appam pan,cooked it evenly 4 to 5 min in each side or when appam turn Golden,now our oats appam is rdy to serve
The oats appam cooks very quickly. Take care not to let them burn. Reduce the heat to low for subsequent batches of appams. Oats banana appam is a healthy, delicious evening snack. The kerala appam is usually prepared with wheat flour, jaggery and coconut.
